Almost time

I feel like a race car thats been idling at the starting line for weeks, almost out of gas. I have yet to begin my painting project, although there is a glimmer of hope that I will be able to paint during spring break. When I first started the process of figuring out who, what, where I was going to contribute my impression of art, I filled with lots of energy. Weeks later it's hard to maintain that level of energy when I have to hurry up and wait. Not that it's anyones fault, it's just the nature of the beast when your dealing with people and money.

since they offered to pay

I had to create a proposal. I included a list of supplies I need, time frame for completion, estimated costs with links to Utrechts website. I was so proud of the way I included one of my paintings inside the PDF that I summited, until I was asked this question..."So what are you gonna paint?" I thought, thats a good question. I mean I have ideas, but really haven't settled on one. I know for sure who the target audience is, I know I'm using acrylic paint on canvas but typically I won't know for sure what it will be until i'm done.Usually I go one way, but get the feeling to totally change directions. So I replied with sea turtles. wink wink.

I met my contact

Today I met my contact (Grace) at Children's Hosptital. We discussed how I could fit into their art needs. Well I have committed myself to two Logos and some paintings. My hope is to create a very large painting, maybe as big as a wall or two.

My task in the coming days is to determine the materials needed and develope a rough draft for painting idea and the two logos. 1 logo is for an art cart that travels around the hospital to bedsides, and the other is for the Society for the Arts in Healthcare conferences in Detroit 2012.

So far I'm really excited.
